CANASTOTA . . .

Candis M. Relyea, 35, of 3232 Seneca Turnpike, Canastota, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Oneida Healthcare, following injuries she sustained in an automobile accident in the Town of Lenox.

She was born on November 23, 1988, in Syracuse, the daughter of Clarence Richer and Patricia Relyea.

Candis spent her early years in Canastota and Oneida attending the Oneida schools, and had recently moved back to Canastota.

She has been the Assistant Manager of the Red Apple Convenience Store in Canastota for many years.

Candis enjoyed her work, and was a fully devoted mother to her children.

Surviving are: her longtime companion, Jeffrey Huss; her children, Cariena Hummell, Joseph Huss, Miles Huss, and Xavier Huss, all at home; her mother, Patricia Relyea of Canastota; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Megan Raynore of Canastota; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Joseph Damiano of Paris, TX; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Candis was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Relyea.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the funeral home. The Rev. William M. Wilcox will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango.
