Obituary of Frances B. King

SOUTH BAY . . .

 

Frances B. "Francy" King, 81, of 3999 State Route 31, Canastota, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Oneida Healthcare, following an apparent heart attack at her home.

 

She was born on June 22, 1937, in Canastota, a daughter of the late Donald and Lois (Miller) Ackerman.

 

Francy lived in the Canastota area all her life, graduating from Canastota High School.

 

When she was younger, she was a 4-H member, and as a young adult bowled in the Sylvan Beach Bowling Leagues.

 

Francy was a member of the Whitelaw Presbyterian Church.

 

She enjoyed crafting, reading, babysitting for family and neighborhood children, and spending time with her family.

 

Francy married Richard E. King on June 13, 1970, in Whitelaw.

 

Surviving besides her husband, Richard, are: one son, Donald M. King of Canastota; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Harold Reinhardt of Verona; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Edward J. Ackerman of Canastota, Donald and Kathleen Ackerman of Oneida Castle, and Randy and Penny Malone of Syracuse; one sister, Belle Harris of Sylvan Beach; a sister-in-law, Gloria Lewis of McConnellsville; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Francy was predeceased by a sister, Cheri Malone.

 

At Francy's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. In her memory contributions may be made to the Greater Lenox Ambulance Service (GLAS), Po Box 382, Canastota, NY 13032.
