Henry J. Seef, 63, of 2294 Route 5 East, Chittenango, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, following a lengthy illness.



He was born on October 26, 1960, in Ithaca, the son of the late George H. Seef, Sr. and Julia L. "Judy" (Nelson) Seef Mott.



Henry spent his early years in East Syracuse, attending the East Syracuse Minoa schools. He later lived in Canastota, and has lived in Chittenango since 1987.



He has been a truck driver for many years, working for Riccelli Enterprises in Syracuse for 17 years, retiring in 2012.



Henry was a past member of the Canastota Volunteer Fire Department.



He was a history buff, and enjoyed collecting knives, fishing, traveling the state and exploring nature, as well as spending time with his family and friends.



He married Helen A. Rashford on December 22, 1984, in Oneida.



Surviving besides his wife, Helen, are: two daughters, Amanda Culkin of Auburn, and Suzanne Mclean of East Syracuse; two grandchildren, Alexis Mclean, and Joshua Barnes; one son-in-law, Christopher Culkin and his son, Aeden, of Mattydale; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael Seef of Canastota, and George, Jr. and Lori Seef of Oneida; sister-in-law, Terri Compton of Georgia; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.



Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jacob N. Rashford of the Way Ministries, Canastota, will officiate. Private burial will be in Stockbridge Cemetery, Munnsville.



In his memory, contributions may be made to the Greater Lenox Ambulance Service, PO Box 382, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
