CANASTOTA . . .

Michael R. Stankivitz, 53, of Canastota, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Oneida Health Care.

He was born on December 25, 1970, in Oneida, the son of Richard and Karen (Burd) Stankivitz.

Michael has lived in Canastota all of his life, graduating from Canastota High School.

He worked at NAPA Auto Parts in Canastota for many years, and had previously worked at Main Street Auto Parts in Canastota.

Michael was of the Catholic Faith.

He enjoyed automobiles, sports, hunting, and fishing.

Michael is survived by: one daughter, Rachelle Stankivitz of Henderson, NV; his ex-wife, Tonya Bell of Wampsville; step-children, Darren Bell of Wampsville, and Destiny Bell of Vernon; step-grandchildren, Cameron Bell, Levi Wright, and Jeremy Wright, Jr.; his father, Richard Stankivitz of Canastota; one sister, Kelly Colvin of Canastota; one brother, Edward Stankivitz of Canastota; nieces and nephews, Hayden, Savannah, Sophia, and Quinn Colvin, and Elijah Stankivitz; aunts and uncles, John and Debbie Burd; Patricia Burd, Laurie O'Brien, Joan and Al Carbone of North Bay; as well as several cousins including, Kristin and Christopher Grosso, Julie and Ted Walawender, and Alex Carbone. Michael was predeceased by his mother, Karen Stankivitz.

Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota.
