Floyd L. Cookhouse, 72, formerly of Canastota, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at The Grand in Chittenango.


He was born on March 13, 1952, in Oneida, the son of the late Frederick A. and Nina M. (Martin) Cookhouse.


Floyd lived in the Canastota area most of his life and was a 1970 graduate of Canastota High School.


He held various positions throughout the area, and most recently worked at the Crazy Clam in Sylvan Beach. Floyd had a great passion for music.


He is survived by his brother, Richard A. Cookhouse of Verona Beach; a niece, Erin Lyn Bailey and her husband, Joseph, of East Syracuse; and a nephew, Sean R. Cookhouse of Florida.


A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. There will be no funeral service.
