MaryAnn spent her early years in Jersey City, and later in Pulaski, where she was a 1952 graduate of Pulaski High School. She had lived in Syracuse for six years, and in the Canastota area since 1959.

She worked at the Brae Loch Inn, Cazenovia, for 20 years, retiring in 1986.

MaryAnn was a member of St. Agatha's Church in Canastota, and also attended St. Mary's Church in Verona Beach.

She enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

MaryAnn married Royce C. Allen, Sr. on August 8, 1953, in Elbridge. Royce died on November 28, 2010, after 57 ½ years of marriage.

Surviving are: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Royce, Jr. and Bonnie Allen of Tully, Michael Allen, Sr. of Canastota, and Edward and Aimee Allen of East Syracuse; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Don Clark, and Debbie and Chris Walters, all of Chittenango; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, David and Phyllis Krais of Altamonte Springs, FL, Ray and Joan Krais of Rochester, Pete and Sharon Krais of Liverpool, Terry Krais of Red Creek; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dolores and Carl Meyer of Chesapeake Bay, VA, Elly and Dick Krick of Salisbury, NC, and Joanne Waldron of Columbia, SC; thirteen grandchildren, Dan Clark, Melissa Clark, Shannon Allen, Michael Allen, Jr., Austin Allen, Jeff Allen, Eric Allen, E.J. Wirkes will officiate. Burial will be in Whitelaw Cemetery, Canastota. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.

In MaryAnn's words "God gave me beautiful flower gardens all my life. He taught me how to turn them into a passion, love them and how to care for them, spending hours and still wanting to stay out there longer. So please, no flowers. Now my wish is to feed the hungry, understanding hunger myself. I would love to turn flowers to food". Please consider a donation in my memory to: In My Father's Kitchen, PO Box 11328, Syracuse, NY 13218, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
