He was born on January 10, 1956, in Utica, the son of the late Charles and Lois (Estep) Jaquays.

Doug spent his early years in Waterville, graduating from Waterville High School in 1974. He later graduated from Utica College at Syracuse University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, and Clarkson University with a Master's Degree in Accounting. Doug has lived in Canastota since 1990.

Doug enjoyed spending time on Oneida Lake, his many dogs over the years, attending Syracuse athletic events, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees, and Buffalo Sabers. He thoroughly loved and enjoyed all types of music, had a great sense of humor, loved making people smile, and spending time with his family and friends.

He married his best friend and the love of his life, Lisa M. Vicik on September 3, 1988, in New Hartford.

Surviving besides his wife, Lisa, are: one son, Zachary Jaquays and Kaliegh Larmer of Los Lunas, NM; one daughter, Amy Jaquays and Scott Haynes of Canastota; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah and James Howard of Arcade, NY, and Denise and Timothy Tarbox of Deansboro; one grandson, Ivan Jaquays; his in-laws, John and Jean Vicik of Whitesboro, Steven and Janyce Vicik of Boxboro, MA, Michael and Diane Vicik of Whitesboro, and Lori and Jamie Pett of Pasadena, MD, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends.
