Louise Lucarelli, 95, of Canastota, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the Betsy Ross Nursing Home, Rome.
She was born on September 11, 1922, in Salida, CO, the daughter of Maurice and Charlotte (Cruz) Monce.
Louise spent her early years in Colorado, and was a 1940 graduate of Salida High School. She later lived in Oneida and Canastota, and has been a resident of Betsy Ross since 2010.
She was a member of St. Agatha’s Church in Canastota.
Louise is a WW II Veteran, serving with the US Navy.
She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Louise married James T. Lucarelli on January 14, 1972. Jim died on July 20, 2010.
Surviving are three children: Linda (John) Ray of Oneida, Carol Brophy of Canastota, and Michael (JoAnn) Geer of Vernon; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Louise’s family would like to thank the staff at Betsy Ross for the excellent care they have given her.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family, and there will be no calling hours. Deacon Adolph Uryniak of St. Agatha’s Church, Canastota, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agatha’s Cemetery, Canastota. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
